Helene (Delphine Seyrig), a widow, sells antiques from the apartment she shares with her stepson, Bernard. Bernard is haunted by his participation in the torture and murder of a young woman named Muriel while serving as a soldier in the war in Algeria. Helene is obsessed by the memory of a man she was in love with twenty-two years ago. When she meets him again, she finds out he is not at all the man she remembered. Meanwhile, Bernard keeps on watching again and again the Super 8 film of his Algerian experience. Alain ResnaisΓÇÖ third feature film, like Hiroshima mon amour and Last Year at Marienbad is a powerful meditation on memory and images. Images in the mind and images on film are the two forms of recollection the characters have to deal with. Muriel has also been one of the rare French films to deal with torture in Algeria, a taboo subject matter one year after the end of the war and Algerian independence. Screenplay and dialog were written by ResnaisΓÇÖ writer for Nuit et brouillard Jean Cayrol. ___________________________________ General Complete name : Muriel.or.The.Time.of.Return.1963.DVDRip.x264-HANDJOB.mkv Format : Matroska File size : 1.56 GiB Duration : 1h 51mn Overall bit rate : 2 009 Kbps Writing application : HandBrake 0.9.9 Writing library : libmkv 0.6.5 Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L3.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 9 frames Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 1h 51mn Bit rate : 1 777 Kbps Width : 720 pixels Height : 572 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 25.000 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.173 Stream size : 1.38 GiB (88%) Writing library : x264 core 130 r2273 b3065e6 Encoding settings : cabac=1 // deblock=1:-3:-3 / analyse=0x3:0x133 / me=tesa / subme=9 / psy=1 / psy_rd=1.00:0.00 // me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=0 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=12 / lookahead_threads=1 / sliced_threads=0 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / bluray_compat=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=6 / b_pyramid=2 / b_adapt=2 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / weightb=1 / open_gop=0 / weightp=2 / keyint=250 / keyint_min=25 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=250 / rc=crf / mbtree=1 / crf=19.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=0 / qpmax=69 / qpstep=4 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:1.20 Language : English Color primaries : BT.470-6 System B, BT.470-6 System G, BT.601-6 625, BT.1358 625, BT.1700 625 PAL, BT.1700 625 SECAM Transfer characteristics : BT.709-5, BT.1361 Matrix coefficients : BT.601-6 525, BT.1358 525, BT.1700 NTSC, SMPTE 170M Audio ID : 2 Format : AC-3 Format/Info : Audio Coding 3 Mode extension : CM (complete main) Codec ID : A_AC3 Duration : 1h 51mn Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 192 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : Front: L R Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Bit depth : 16 bits Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 153 MiB (10%) Language : French Text ID : 3 Format : VobSub Codec ID : S_VOBSUB Codec ID/Info : The same subtitle format used on DVDs Language : English
