Süha (Cem Davran) is a middle aged man who is a lecturer at a university. He travels to an Alevi village in Anatolia as part of an academic study. While driving on a lonely country road on a rainy night Süha sees a coffin soar through the night. He hits the brakes, but the car crashes into the wall of the village cemetery. When he opens his eyes, he finds himself inside the cemetery, where he will take a harrowing journey towards both Turkey’s and his own past.
