1. Open q3a.exe
2. Browse / Type desired extraction folder
3. Go to install dir and open Quake3 folder
4. Run quake3.exe (Make shortcuts if desired)
5. When prompted for serial, just click Accept (No serial needed)
6. Enjoy

Multiplayer works, but I doubt many will still be playing this game online.

For those of you that want to try something new there is a game called Tribes:Ascend.It's similar to Unreal Tournament or Quake. Evryone gets a jetpack and jetboots, you get to fly around at very high speeds and it's quite a lot of fun. The game is at patch 1.30, You will need to update to patch 1.32 if you wish to play online.
I have experienced a few crashes but most of the game works fine.
