	1- Run Portal_Setup.exe
	2- Change install directory if you so choose, otherwise

The installer will place shortcuts on both the desktop and start menu.
Directly launching the game from the install directory requires you to
use revLoader.exe courtesy of REVOLUTiON team. This tool provides steam
emulation which makes this game possible to play entirely without steam.

Since steam crashes on my computer, this will make me able to actually play the game I downloaded via steam a while ago...

Just simply delete the Valve/Portal folder in your program files. Then just delete the shortcuts on the desktop.

ignore my previous comment, went into the portal folder and clicked the hl2 icon and it loaded portal just fine, if you are having similar problems this might be a fix for you
