Most antivirus give off a false positive when using an edited "hacked" executable (game file) to crack. This is not becuase of a virus but because the antivirus software detected a "reverse enginering" of sorts with the hacked executable. I will test and comment.

Hi , first of all thanks for the awesome seed , i was done in notime. But however i am facing a problem , i have installed the game and applyed the files from the "SKIDROW" map but when i try to start the game nothing happens. Some help would be awesome.

If you guys are getting APPCRASH error or nothing happens when you try to start the game, maybe you forgot to install some necessary components:
Reinstall the game and check all the boxes for .net framework and directx installation. Then copy-paste the SKIDROW files. Now it's working fine here, the game looks nice, gonna buy it on Steam for online play. :)

Well, I couldn't play it because my video card is old. But for those that can't play: run as admin and enable compatibility mode for XP SP3.
I found a fix when u can't start the game. Right click .exe file go to compatibility, check "Run this program in compativility mode for:". Choose Windows XP SP3, hit apply and play. Works on Win 7 64bit

Ok i've tried this like 4-5 times now and still cant get it to work, I install everything, I even make sure by going to DXsetup to make sure and the dotnetfx35 too and the .NET framework. When I run the game without the crack it says "Steam must be running" then when I copy over the crack the program wont run at all and windows just give's the same old shit "Windows is looking for a solution to the problem".

This game is OK. Nothing more I mean the idea is very original and solid. I would give it an overall 6/10.
Pros:
-The gameplay style is awesome, combining different elements is very entertaining. It's definitely a fresh idea.
-Very cool weapons that give you different abilities.
Cons: (more disadvantages than advantages, sadly)
-Has tons of bugs.
-Not enough saving points is very fucking frustrating.
-Frost+Arcane+Lightning+right click is overpowered and can kill anything with no problem. That kind of imbalances the whole gameplay totally. Because of this there is no need for weapons at all.
-The spells you obtain throughout the game cannot be used. Bugged or what? Idk.

Well yeah, the game has some issues... But there is one big difference between this here pirated one and if you but it on steam. PATCHES. You see andrew: When you own the game through steam, patches download automatically and it seems that the developers are well aware of the early problems. There are more savepoints and the spell combos work as they should... maybe they even f*cked it up so that us pirates would have a lousy experience. Who knows? Anyhoo... loved the game. Downloaded it, played it for 10 minutes and then bought it.
@joshfb No I'm not stupid but thnks for asking. The reason I ran without the crack was to narrow down where I was having the problem, see if it didnt work before the crack then I would've found it was something not related to the crack.

One thing that might be linked, is that after I install the game, when you're asked to install the 3 other programs (DirectX, .NET FW and something else), If I select them all, the first 2 fail (I get some error relating to the dependencies folder) so I just manually installed the exact same version of them.
Any ideas/help? :)

ok guys, this works PERFECTLY on win 7. when you finish this torrent, u you should download SKIDROW's patch, that is also available on TPB. if you get the 'magicka.exe stopped working' error, you should reinstall the game and at the end of the installation, install all those 3 programs. it should work fine.
im using windows 7 64. At first it didnt work for me (error when i tried to open the game) then i just reinstalled and checked the 3 boxes at the end of the setup. Worked like a charm! thank you for the upload

What's the fuss all about?? I played the game and never encountered any bugs, @andyrew93 you have to press Space after entering the combination to cast spells like haste. One thing is for sure, the game is very hard when you get overun by monsters. Very good game overall.

At chapter 11, after entering the huge temple, there's a snow monster eating a deer's corpse, but when you come near it, the game crashes. so the game cannot be finished after all.
Finally finished the game! I used teleport spell to pass through crash areas, the game was so hard because the checkpoints are very far.

I think the game is awesome, and will buy it as soon as i can, its true, its buggy as hell, but the play system its just top. And I believe if supported this mechanic can turn in an amazing game. btw spells do work, but they are recipes you're supposed to follow, and are just great and make you feel like a mage conjuring for real
Keeps crashing at the dragon boss fight, I found a work around by downloading a save chapter from chapter 12 but then I dont have the spell from that fight to take care of the final boss so yaa. Anyone else know how to fix the crash? I do have the SKIDROW patch btw. SKIDROW RULES!

You CAN play this game online, I already tried it today with a friend, here are the instructions. The one I write here is shorter, while the one in the link includes links and etc., just remove the + (it includes a link to the Update 7 download).
1) Installed the SKIDROW version. DON'T install the cracked content
2) Immediately installed SKIDROW’s update 7, DON'T install the crack files for the update either.
3) Made a steam_appid.txt file with the demo’s app id (73050) and placed it in the root of the Magicka install folder.

No matter what I do I can't get this to work! I've tried everything I can think of and it always crashes on startup.
First I installed and cracked and I got the 'windows is finding a solution..etc.' message, then I reinstalled, patched and cracked and instead of the windows message my screen just flashed black and then nothing happened. Then I reinstalled again, installed all 3 of those extra things (you need admin controls for 2 of them), patched, cracked and tried again. Still no luck. Anybody have any ideas? I've reinstalled like 10 times trying to figure this out :(

Looks like it crashes on startup for a lot of people.

I use Daenom Tools to open the iso file, and I see only .exe that installs the game. Maybe You could send me the crack-only version, provided that it exists?
I can't see the folder anywhere. I open the iso using Daemon Tools, and the only thing that happen is that the installation starts automatically. I also used magisISO and copied the files from SKIDROW to the installation folder, but there were only some useless .ini and .txt files. Maybe someone could upload the crack-only version, please?

Currently 11 patches released (almost all of em are bug fixes). Download latest one (Magicka.Update.11-SKIDROW) before play this because game almost unplayable.

For anyone having problems starting the game(crashes before it even opens) right click the exe. file and then properties.
Then on compatibilities, run it as Windows XP (SP3)

Can I get a currently active hamachi server for this game? I want to play multiplayer
I downloaded, downloaded the three extra programs, took the files from the SKIDROW folder and pasted/overwrote the files in the magicka main program folder. It told me the program has stopped working, and do I want to send an error report. I have windows xp. I am already an administrator, so I can't change that. I tried running it with less options, still nothing. I dunno why it's not working, but it seems to be happening to a lot of people, so i think it's something in the program.
To all of you having trouble. During the install you will have to select the 3 extra components and install them, two will fail (dx and the other probably not even included in the torrent) and the other will work.
Then it will probably still give an error, try right-click run as administrator (worked for me), righ-click - properties - compatibility - run as....windows xp sp1/2/3.

@killswitch. If you are operating with windows xp, you don't have the option to run in compatibility mode with windows xp. You must be running a newer version of windows, because you are able to select windows xp. For me, the choices are win95, 98, ME/2000, and WinNT. Also, I don't know what people mean when they say run as administrator. I am already an admin on my computer, so that shouldn't have posed a problem.

i got it to run after i installed the latest patch (skidrow has it cracked as well). Before that it wouldn't launch. I also had to run as admin.
@fomorian27: The admin thing is for vista/7 users. Even if you are on an admin account, programs don't have admin access unless you give it to them. Try going to microsoft and installing the latest xna and the latest directx. The game uses xna for everything and even supports xbox 360 controller. If the stuff isn't installed it crashes.

i dont know if id buy a game where if you set the language to english.....its not in english and if you set it to anything else it crashes. even with update 7-10. i dont want to be studying german just to play a game when the language is supposed to be english.

I'm playing on a laptop, and don't have a middle-button. This isn't a big problem, as I can get my touch-pad to pretend I middle-clicked. This will cast the spell in the game, but (probably) because it's not a real button the tutorial won't let me progress. did anyone else run into this problem? if yes, how did you solve it?

Just buy the game. It's $10 and it's the most fun, most unique game to come out for years. Multiplayer is where it's really at.

How i got it to work: installed the game by mounting, installed netframework and and the other two, copied the crack, started the game as administrator. :)

now if you got those you can go to vuze or where ever you use to get your torrents and launch magika.
now you will see a filewith a sheep if you hAVE CLONE DR !! rt click THEN extract files HERE ...
now mount the image

um. i complete first episode and then the game crashes.....so pointless to download this.
To all those asking about multiplayer, take the time to read older comments. I left detailed instructions on how to get it to work online on Page 4.
I bought this game as it was so cheap and long lasting coop fun. If you cant play this as coop, you're missing out. And the amount of bugs in the early releases make me think you should just go and buy the game, get the updates, enjoy it. Up to you but its such good value, and the quality of the game if you appreciate it, well... its the only games company I can think of that I would support with my moneys. Do it its dirt cheap and endless fun if you have friends.
Hope it aint gonna be a FAIL like Torchlight was. Man, that was soooo disapointing :(
