hm is anyone else experiencing crc errors?i seem to get them in data3 and data4? i mean it extracts it but when i try to play characters are invisible even though i pasted that packages over the game.

every time i try to start the game i get: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem"

i reinstalled it once but i still get the error, when i try to launch it from the launcher nothing happens also when the Nvidia PhysX driver tries to install i get: "The currently installed version of the drivers is newer than what you are trying to install, aborting the installation" but nothing may this cause the problem?

The opening movie (after you press new game) goes black for me as soon as the voice over starts talking. The audio remains though. I've installed the game twice but no change.

Yes, I saw that. You don't have to place the files yourself, there's already a path for them if you just unpack it in the root directory. It hasn't helped me with my problem though.

@wingman92: There already is a Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 that comes with the game, try installing that.
I installed http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14-984D-389C36F85647&displaylang=en should be the same thing as the one that comes with the game and if that doesnt work then try http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A5C84275-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2&displaylang=en

ok got the movies to work, turns out that i extracted the wrong pack, i have 2 movie packs 1 from resident evil and 1 from dragon age and i extracted the 1 from resident evil lol but my character is still invisible

first of all thank u for this great game !!! iv downloaded and added the content from the package file.. and iv tried changing the graphic settings but the first video goes blank after playin for a few seconds and i cant see the character mean while creating it ... and during the gameplay everything is fine...game runs smoothly ...just need help with the char creation bug ..cant seem to see da character :( and i av amd 4850 512mb wid core 2 duo 2.20ghz wid 3 gig ram

I've installed the game, but cannot get past the launcher for DA. I click the play button but nothing happens. When I use the shortcut provided by tptb I get the "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem"

I have installed the downloads suggested by others, although some of them did not work saying they were not compatible with my computer. any suggestions?

the config error stems from the patch as som elements were made using newer visual c++. The fix that has worked for most people is downloading the more up to dat visual c++. But the most effective way is to get rid of the patch which i unfortunatley don't know how to do, seen as we don't have the original copy on cd

Can't get it to work. I unziped the files from tptb.exe and then tried to run the setup.bat, but when I run it it says "tptb.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file.
Did I do something wrong?
I unziped it twice to see if I would get the same error But I did.

just a couple of updates since my last comment:

1) the vitality 1.01b patch does seem to work- no problems so far. not sure about the dlc on the tptb website, but i'm guessing it should also work.
2) I downloaded the video files from 4shared, but I still had that 'missing character' issue. Someone on here said something about putting the directory into 'program files', an that seemed to solve that problem.

Just extract the file where you installed the game
e.g X\Games\Dragon Age

Works fine. Just download the videos. At the intro video you press escape fast, or character creation screen will be black (you got like 10 sec or so).

Else than this little issue, this game works fine. Too bad it got so little seeders, took 21 hours to download it.

which seems to have the missing video and a working char creator which you then import into the game proper ( coincidence?!) think has to be installed in the C drive though.

i have used it and works fine, but if anyone can integrate it into the retail would be great! probablly just need to know what files to copy across... am no good at stuff like that though :)

anyway, was just a heads up on the problem, and a possible sol'n

Ok to all who are having the Side-by-side problem listen here.

Go to google Search "dragon age error configuration incorrect" look for the FILEnetworks guide about the side to side error

This is a guide on how to make the game work, the process only took 3 minutes, and now my game is up and running. Hope this will help many of you that are having the problems. :D
