COURSE TITLE: OpenVMS Fundamentals, Version 7.2 (Rev. 0.30) The .PDF files for this course should be used for a lecture-lab in a classroom with an instructor. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completing this course, the student should be able to: * Log into an OpenVMS system and use DCL. * Create and modify files using an editor. * Manage files and organize them into directory files. * Set protection permissions on files. * Create and use DCL symbols. * Create and use logical names. * Use the Mail utility to read and send mail. * Write basic command procedures. * Create a LOGIN.COM command procedure. * Submit batch and print jobs to queues. PREREQUISITES Basic knowledge of computer use. DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTRUCTOR-LED TRAINING Instructor: The instructor requires a PC with display unit for presentation and demonstration. Each student: * Each student requires a PC with Ethernet connections. * PCs should be configured with PowerTERM, KEAterm, or equivalent terminal emulator. PRESENTATION SLIDE INFORMATION The notes pages of the slides contain instructor notes and answers to the learning checks. To print these for reference during class, select Notes Pages in the "Print what" field of the Print menu. Be sure to disable the Black & White option.
