After his partner is brutally slain and the mob puts a bounty on his own head, Las Vegas cop Nick Epps finds himself in the witness protection program, who has to testify against a the mobster's son who killed his partner. His superiors send him to hide out on the Navajo Nation posing as a Bureau Indian Affairs Liaison to the Navajo Nation Police Department. The apparent tranquility of reservation life quickly proves to be illusory as Epps becomes involved with a ritual serial killer investigation led by tribal officer Audrey Wyako--and falls in love with her half-sister Elizabeth.
