OK, let's try this again, hopefully I'm a successful seeder...

Welcome to my Big Fat Font Collection!

First of all I'd like to say I use a mac and don't use any virus/malware/spyware etc. protection (I've been using mac for about 25 years and never had a virus once, knock on wood...old school), so if you use windows you might want to scan these. If someone does scan and find such nasty things please post alerts so others on windows will know.

Second of all this is a huge variety of fonts, collected and created from various sources...all of which total 608 MB.

The kinds: mostly TTF but also OTF, FFIL, LWFN, PFM, PFB and who knows what else! Some are windows fonts that work on my mac perfectly.

It's well over 2000 fonts with the Adobe collection included (some of the Adobe fonts are the ones that come with installation but I don't know which are which anymore so I included them all).

I put a READ ME file in the folder which is pretty self explanatory. I zipped it with Stuffit, please let me know if anyone has trouble opening it.

I really wanted to give back especially to all that upload and share:
I couldn't think of what else to share but if anyone has anything they seek let me know, this is just something I really enjoy and if you do graphics or just want to have a nice font collection this is a great thing!

A note to any trolls:
Alerts of spyware etc. are helpful and great if not essential, but negative comments are poo. If you don't like the free stuff you get here or anywhere else, go buy it and quit ur complainin'!

this is a long time of unzipping, opening, sorting through etc. etc. of fonts into one folder, it's not just full of garbage web dings and silliness...hopefully it gets seeded :)

heavypops, thanks for your effort. now when more seeders are available, it seems be ok.

i only wanted to give you few tips. you instructed to install all fonts in system folder. as you noticed your apps will start much slower. also they may crash much more easily if font conflict happens.

so keep all additional fonts outside of system and use some font manager to activate them. don't activate too many fonts at the same time. Linotype FontExplorer X is very good freeware font manager. to preview all fonts without activating them you can use FontDoc (freeware). it has nice feature to show you all fonts together in a list. search and download these or some other apps at http://www.versiontracker.com

I've noticed that ps takes a sec to load fonts (like start ps/press t/go make a cup of tea :), I'm definitely checking out that method!
Since posting this I've finally started my house cleaning on those fonts, uff-dah! Going through the non-validated/error ridden fonts, opening them with FontLab, generating a clean font/replacing it w the bad, plus going through and skimming the fat.
If you like only 5% of these that's still about 100 fonts.
Why does it say only 1 seeder here and 0(10) on Azureus?

heavypops - no problems.
managing fonts and getting them in order affects the workflow in any point. later it's easier to keep them in order. google about font management on Mac for more detailed info, but generally you may move out most of the fonts in your home/Library/ and HD/Library/Application Support, and manage them separately. Keep the required fonts untouched, it's very important.

about peers you should browse the info in other trackers as well. probably it's too complicated to collect the global statistics, so different trackers show the info based on their local activity. for example by isohunt the current state is 14 seeders / 14 leechers (http://isohunt.com/torrents/mybigfatfonts). i'm not sure how it works exactly.

...been testing out the font manager, actually like the free FontExplorer X better than Suitcase Fusion - much more stable + easier to use. I didn't move all the fonts into it's directory on start up - I wasn't sure if it would remove the required system fonts. Going to play around w it today.

Check the link from subnet_mask and the one that I included in my response post below his; it's the one that I downloaded on my laptop and is uploading at 35 kb/s with 0(5) seeds and 2(4) peers.
The downloaded file name is: "MyBigFatFonts.zip"

Less specific is better - Arab will hit on arabic, arabian etc ... font gets font, fonts, etc
Use livetype in exact as that gets a higher priority when the search is run.

This search engine queries all the major search engines. You'll get some dups but not many. I always do better than my friend who won't search on anything other than google.

you could also make a query:

All of these words = add font
The exact phrase = livetype
Any of these words = problem "how to"
