Had a problem with the original rip of this. A commercial had cut into the broadcast a little. Luckily the second airing wasn't like that. But because of that I had to rerip the episode after watching 30~ minutes of it. I did not rewatch those first 30 minutes on this reconvert. However the bit lost has been restored and I scanned through to make sure there weren't any glaring errors. Also watched the last ~11 minutes. If there is a problem, leave a comment. I will keep the source rip for a while. TONIGHT ON THE INDEPENDENTS (written by Matt Welch, taken from Reason) --------------------------- Tonight's episode of The Independents (Fox Business Network, 9 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. PT, with re-airs three hours later) starts with a lively discussion about the flagging war on ISIS, featuring Party Panelists John Bolton (former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations) and Joe DeVito (comedian). The duo will also discuss Chickenshitgate, and the various Ebola-quarantine nonsenses being debated. There's a big-deal new Harvard poll showing that likely Millennial voters are more likely to vote in the midterms for Republicans than Democrats (!); we'll discuss. Beloved Reason Senior Editor Peter Suderman will assess what a GOP victory in the Senate might mean for Obamacare. Cato Institute scholar and former Reasoner Julian Sanchez will analyze the cyber attack against the White House. And we'll name our weekly Enemy of Freedom. Hint: J.D. Tuccille's not a big fan of it. http://reason.com/blog/2014/10/29/tonight-on-the-independents-millennials INFO ---- Ripped with the Diamond VC500. Using the software that came packaged with the dongle. (It's called EZ Ripper.) In that software there's a "DVD Standard" which rips the video to .mpg at 720x480 with some terrible black bars. I load that file into AVIDemux. Cut the file into multiple parts to remove the commercials. Rejoin, crop, and resize those files using the same tool. For conversion I used MPEG4 AVC (x264), 2 pass on video and AAC (faac) on audio. I am not part of the scene. I just admire their naming standards.
